Eagles take win at home

It was senior night in East Brewton as the W.S. Neal Eagles hosted Excel’s Panthers in a non-region matchup.

It was all Eagles in the first quarter of the game putting 14 points on the board before Excel made a move. At the end of the first quarter, WSN lead by a 14-7 score.

The Eagles would quickly widen the lead with another TD and a two-point conversion putting 22 up on the board. With just over 3 minutes left in the first half, the Eagles put more numbers on the board widening their lead by a score of 30 to 7.

Before the buzzer could sound for half-time, Excel found the opportunity to score putting 15 under their name on the board.

At the half, WSN took the lead into the locker room 30-15.

Mid-way through the third quarter, Excel finds the end zone to add to their score but still trailing the Eagles, 30-23.

The Eagles would quickly answer with another score of their own widening the lead again, 38-23.

Into the fourth quarter of play, Excel would find a way to get into the end zone one last time putting 31 total on the board for the Panthers.

But with just over a minute to play, the Eagles would make their final score of the night making a total of 46 points on the board for the home team.

Excel would quickly answer with a score of their own to make 39 total for them, but it would be the last score of the night.

As the buzzer sounded to end the game, the Eagles notch another win on the season taking Excel down by a score of 46 to 39.

The Eagles will host the T.R. Miller Tigers next Friday in the annual rival of the Battle of Murder Creek. Kick off is at 7 p.m.
