TRM recognized for ‘good grades’

Officials are T.R. Miller High School are celebrating this week after the school was named in the Top 20 across the state.
The ‘good grade’ put the school among the Top 20 schools in the state with an overall score of 88.41 out of a possible score of 100.
The categories used to reach the score included College Readiness Index Rank placing the school in the 19th spot in the state; College Curriculum Breadth Index, State Assessment Proficiency, State Assessment Performance and Graduation Rate.
The overall placement at 20 in the state covered work done by the nearly 400 students at the school in 9th through 12th grades.
In the U.S. News and World Reports “Best High Schools” ranking release, T.R. Miller’s distinguishable rankings include the fact that students have the opportunit to take Advanced Placement courswork and exams with 53 percent of students participating in AP work.
In national ranking, T.R. Miller placed at no. 2,046 with schools ranked on performance on state-required tests, graduation and how well they prepare students for college. Some 17,655 schools across the nation were included in the ranking process.
The school educates students in ninth through 12th grades and has a student:teacher ratio of 17:1.
