Bayside Academy sweeps TRM baseball Friday to clinch area series

Needing one win over area rival Bayside Academy Friday in Daphne to clinch the area series over the Admirals, the No. 5-ranked T.R. Miller Tigers were swept.
Bayside Academy rallied from two-runs down in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat the Tigers 9-8.
With the series on the line in the second game Friday, T.R. Miller lost 12-2 in five innings.
T.R. Miller won game one in Brewton 8-7 in nine innings Thursday.
T.R. Miller’s Tigers fell to 12-5 overall and to 1-1 in area play with the loss.
The tiebreaker will be used if needed to determine the final area standings.
No other stats or game information was known as of press time.
The Tigers will play in the Opp Spring Break Tournament Monday and Tuesday.
On Monday, T.R. Miller will play Straughn at 4:30 p.m.
On Tuesday, the Tigers will play Brantley and Opp.
Tuesday’s games will be at 2 and 7 p.m.
T.R. Miller’s games with Straughn and Opp will be at Merchant’s Field while Tuesday’s game against Brantley will be on the Babe Ruth field.
