GECA to host new production this month

The Greater Escambia Center for the Arts (GECA) is rehearsing intently in preparation for their next production set for Feb. 29-March 2 in Atmore.

The children’s play, “Twice Upon A Time” by Tracy Wells, will open on Thursday, Feb. 29 at 7 p.m. at the group’s theatre at 100 S. Trammell Street near downtown Atmore.

Sharon Poulsen is the director for the production with assistant director Simon Bush helping with the duties. Bush, who will also be on the stage of the all too familiar timeless fairy tales that will provide plenty of laughter for those who attend.

Bedtime stories will never be the same when this cast of quirky characters and mishaps along the way unfold. Loaded with funny lines and unique situations, this one-act play will entertain and leave its audience wanting more.

Public shows are scheduled for 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 29 through Saturday, March 2 and at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 3. Tickets will be available online at www.gecarts.org and at the door for $12.

Doors open a half hour prior to the show. There will be a 15-minute intermission during the show. All concessions are $1.50 and will be sold during intermission.
