JDCC beats Wallace State-Selma

The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team defeated Wallace State-Selma Monday 72-64.
The win improved the Warhawks to 7-9 overall and 4-3 in conference play.
The Warhawks led Wallace State 42-36 after the first half and outscored Selma 30-28 in the second half to get the win by eight.
Turmonte Ragland led the Warhawks with 21 points and Brandon Scott added 17 points. Kahlee Tyler chipped in 10 points and Braylon Lazare and Gabriel Rice had six points each.
Sherman Presswood added four points and Joshua Fealing had three. Daryl Duncan and Larel Jackson added two points each and Derrell Washington had one point.
Rice led with four offensive rebounds and Ragland led with six defensive and eight total. Presswood led with six assists in the win and Rice and Scott had one block each.
Tyler, Fealing, Presswood, and Ragland all had two steals in the win for the Warhawks.
JDCC shot 50 percent from the field (27-for-54) and was 0-for-6 from the 3-point area.
The Warhawks shot 18-for-26 from the free throw line for 69.2 percent.
JDCC will play at home Thursday against Bishop State at 7 p.m. and at Chattahoochee Valley Monday at 7:30 p.m. EST.
