WSN baseball to begin Monday

The 2011 W.S. Neal baseball schedule shows plenty of games for the Eagles this spring.
The varsity Eagles have 26 games scheduled with four doubleheaders for a overall total of 30 games. The Eagles have 11 home games and 15 away games.
The Eagles will begin play Monday, Feb. 21 on the road with the Escambia County Blue Devils of Atmore. The game was set to be a home game for the Eagles, but had to be changed due to field conditions at the renovation of the Eagles’ baseball field. The game will begin at noon with the JV and 2 p.m. with the varsity.
The Junior Varsity Eagles have 18 games with one doubleheader scheduled for 2011. The JV schedule shows 10 home games and eight away games.
The varsity Eagles of W.S. Neal will be in an area this year and next with Monroe County, Hillcrest-Evergreen, Jackson, and Thomasville.
The Eagles will play in two tournaments this spring with the Escambia County Tournament being one and being held in Atmore. The other will be the Eagle Classic in East Brewton.
W.S. Neal, who went 13-13 last year, is coached by head coach Coy Campbell and assistant coach Robbie Grace.
Also, the W.S. Neal Eagles will have a 7th and 8th grade baseball team this year as well and will be coached by W.S. Neal Middle School coach Chuck Phillips.
The Eagles will play in six games this year and two tournaments. Three of the games will be home and three away. W.S. Neal will host a tournament in March and will also play in a tournament in Thomasville.
