WSN softball takes down Hillcrest Jags

The W.S. Neal Lady Eagle softball team improved their overall record to 5-4 overall and to 1-1 in area play with a 12-2 win over the Hillcrest Lady Jags Friday at home.
The Lady Eagle JV team won 10-2 in game two.
In the 12-2 varsity win for the Lady Eagles, starting pitcher Kaitlin Hadaway struck out 13 to get the win.
Hadaway pitched the complete game six innings for the Lady Eagles allowing two hits, two runs, one earned and walked two in the 10-run win.
W.S. Neal scored three runs in the second inning and four in the third to take a 7-0 lead.
After failing to score in the fourth, the Lady Eagles added two more runs in the fifth to lead 9-0.
Hillcrest scored two runs in the top of the sixth to cut the lead to 9-2, but W.S. Neal responded with three in the bottom of the inning to end the game with the 10-run win.
Autumn Hinote was 2-for-4 with ad triple and RBI for the Lady Eagles and Hadaway was 1-for-4 with the two game-ending RBIs in the sixth.
Kena Ellison was 1-for-4 and Britta Wood was 1-for-3.
Haley Lum was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Jade Danley was 1-for-3 with one RBI. Heather Elliott had one RBI in the win.
As of press time, no stats were known from the 10-2 win in game two.
