Men face sex abuse charges

Two Brewton man face sexual abuse charges after an Escambia County Grand Jury handed down an indictment in the cases this week.
Michael Oden, 31, of Brewton, was arrested at his place of employment Thursday after the case information was presented to the Grand Jury. The Alabama Bureau of Investigation handled the case with the Escambia County Sheriffs Department assisting in the arrest. Court officials say the incident resulting in the charges occurred in the Snyder Road area in Atmore.
Oden has been charged with first-degree sexual abuse and indecent exposure on a child under the age of eleven according to the indictment information.
Oden was released on $250,000 after being booked on the charges at the Escambia County Detention Center.
Terry Scarborough, also of Brewton, was arrested Friday at his place of employment after the Grand Jury handed down an indictment charging him with sexual abuse of a child under the age of 11. Court officials said the incident in the case occurred inside the Brewton city limits.
Scarborough was being held on a $250,000 bond as of press time.
No other details in either case were released by court officials.
