Pleasant Home beats WSN Monday

In their final home game of the season Monday and on Senior Night, all three Eagle basketball teams had an unpleasant night against the Pleasant Home Eagles.
The B-team Eagles dropped a close game 22-19 to start the night off and fall to 1-17 this season while the Lady Eagles lost 50-24 to fall to 3-17. In varsity action, the Eagles lost 60-41 to drop to 3-20.
W.S. Neal was scheduled to play at Monroe County Tuesday in their final area game of the season. The Eagles will end their regular season Friday in Flomaton.
Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.

PH 22, WSN B-team 19
Trailing by three points with 12 seconds left in the game, the W.S. Neal Eagles missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer to fall to Pleasant Home 22-19.
Pleasant Home led the Eagles 9-4 after one quarter of play and 15-12 at the half following an 8-6 advantage in the second quarter for W.S. Neal.
In a low-scoring third quarter, Pleasant Home edged out W.S. Neal 3-2 to increase their lead to 18-14 heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, Pleasant Home led W.S. Neal 22-16 with 1:55 left in the game for the Eagles rallied to cut the lead to 22-19 with 19 seconds left.
After a missed shot for W.S. Neal, an Eagle player was called for a foul on the rebound and sent Pleasant Home to the line with 12 seconds left.
After missing the front end of a one-and-one free throw, W.S. Neal had their shot to tie the game and force overtime, but missed at the buzzer.
Quantae Barksdale led W.S. Neal with 10 points while TyAnthony Alexander added eight.
TyQuis Collins chipped in one point for the Eagles in the loss.

PH 50, WSN Lady Eagles 24
Leading 16-6 over W.S. Neal in the first quarter, Pleasant Home used a 25-0 run through the third quarter to build a 41-6 lead over W.S. Neal and cruise to a 26-point win.
Pleasant Home led W.S. Neal 20-6 after one quarter and 33-6 at the half after holding the Eagles scoreless in the second quarter.
In the third, W.S. Neal was outscored 12-3 to trail 45-9 heading into the fourth.
In the fourth, W.S. Neal rallied with a 15-5 run, but could not overcome the large deficit as they lost by 26 points.
Courtney Emmons led the Lady Eagles in the loss with seven points while KeKe Floyd added six.
Khadijah Barton followed with four points while Glenasia Butler chipped in three points. Arianna Jones and Mariah Davis both had two points each in the loss.

PH 60, WSN varsity Eagles 41
A furious effort early from the W.S. Neal varsity Eagle basketball team fizzled as the game went on as they dropped a 60-41 loss at home Monday to Pleasant Home.
W.S. Neal led Pleasant Home in the first quarter 10-9 before the visiting Eagles scored the final four points of the quarter to lead 13-10 after one quarter of play.
In the second, Pleasant Home used an 11-0 run to help them hold a 29-20 lead over W.S. Neal at the half.
In the third, Pleasant Home used an 8-0 run to aid them in an 18-15 advantage over the Eagles of East Brewton to hold claim to a 47-35 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, Pleasant Home ended the game on a 13-6 run to get the win by 19 points.
Jalen Harrod led the Eagles with 11 points while Josiah Nettles and D.J. Hodges both chipped in seven points each.
Hudson Brown finished with six points and Trevor Burns added four. Nick Straiton, Tavin Ingrahm and Donovan Millican all had two points each in the loss.
