WSNMS football ends season with 14-12 win over Excel

The W.S. Neal Middle School football team ended their season on a winning note Monday at Excel as they came away with a 14-12 win.
The win ended the season for the Eagles with a 3-3 record.
J.T. Lane got the Eagles on the board first with a 6-yard run and the Eagles led the Panthers 8-0 at the end of the first quarter after a successful two-point conversion.
In the second quarter, Excel scored but missed their conversion as the Eagles went into the locker room with an 8-6 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, Christian Wood recovers a Panther fumble in the end zone for the Eagles to put W.S. Neal up 14-6 heading into the fourth quarter after the conversion try was no good.
In the fourth quarter, Excel cut the lead to 14-12 with 1:00 left in the game as they scored on a fourth down pass. The conversion try was no good.
The Panthers tried an onside kick, but W.S. Neal recovered and held on for the win by two.
Lane finished with 110 yards on 14 carries and one touchdown. Peyton Salter had 26 yards on seven carries and Kenny Walker added 16 yards on two carries in the win.
