Both the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers and the varsity Lady Tigers suffered losses in their first games of the Escambia County Tournament Friday in Atmore.
The Lady Tigers lost to Flomaton 48-26 to see their record fall to 1-6 this season while the varsity Tigers lost 37-34 to fall to 1-4 this season.
With the losses, both T.R. Miller teams were to face W.S. Neal—who lost to Atmore Friday night—on Saturday to decide third and fourth place.

Flomaton 48, TRM Lady Tigers 26
In the first game of the season between the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers and Flomaton, the Lady Hurricanes used a 22-0 run to help take down the Lady Tigers 51-16. Friday night in Atmore in the Escambia County Tournament, it was a 21-0 run that propelled Flomaton to a 22-point win.
Flomaton led T.R. Miller 19-10 after one quarter of play Friday night before outscoring the Lady Tigers 19-0 in the second quarter to hold a 38-10 lead at the half. The Lady Tigers were held scoreless for 9:15—a span that lasted the final 1:15 of the first quarter and all of the second quarter.
In the third quarter, the Lady Tigers held a 9-4 advantage to cut the lead to 42-19. T.R. Miller would end the game on a 7-6 run, but took the loss by a score of 48-26.
Lateysia Montgomery led the Lady Tigers with 16 points while Sha Nicholson and Mekia Williams both had four points. Onesha Hal had two points.
The Lady Tigers shot 4-for-4 from the free throw line while Flomaton was 3-for-8.

Flomaton 37, TRM varsity Tigers 34
The Flomaton Hurricanes avenged a 50-43 earlier defeat from the T.R. Miller varsity Tigers Friday night as they edged out the Tigers 37-34 in the first night of the Escambia County Tournament.
The Hurricanes used an 8-0 run in the first quarter to lead T.R. Miller 10-4 after one quarter of play. In the second quarter, T.R. Miller outscored the Hurricanes 12-8, but trailed 18-16 at the half.
In the third quarter, both teams struggled on offense as only 11 total points were scored in the quarter, with the Hurricanes holding a 6-5 advantage to take a 24-21 lead into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, the Hurricanes would go 9-for-15 from the free throw line down the stretch, and both teams would score 13 points each as the Hurricanes earned the three-point win.
Trae Walker was the leading scorer for T.R. Miller with 12 points, including a 3-pointer at the buzzer to end the game. David Barragan followed with eight points and Chardian Johnson had six. Caden Lodge finished with four points while Jalen Jones and Terry Samuel both had two points each.
T.R. Miller shot 6-for-12 from the free throw line while Flomaton was 17-for-25.
