Second have dooms JDCC basketball; ends season on five-game losing streak

In their final home and regular season game of the year Wednesday night against LBW, the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team suffered an 81-50 loss to the Saints.
The loss ended JDCC’s season with a five-game losing streak and finished them with a 5-19 overall record and 2-8 in conference play.
The Warhawks trailed JDCC 31-25 after one half of play, but was blown out in the second half by 25 points. In the second half, JDCC was outscored 50-25.
Leading JDCC in the loss was Adrian Rich with 10 points. Keenan Williams added nine points while Fletcher Forte and Jerry Aaron had eight points each. Darren Wilson had four points while Brandon Davis, Lance Davis and LaBrannon Nix had three points each. Truman Whitaker finished with two points in the loss.
Davis led JDCC with five total rebounds, with all five coming on defense. Williams also finished with five total rebounds to lead the Warhawks. Bonner led with three assists and two steals while Davis and Williams led with one block each for the Warhawks.
JDCC shot 11-for-17 from the free throw line while LBW was 28-for-32.
The Warhawks were out-rebounded 38-29 including 14-6 on offense and 24-23 on defense.
JDCC committed 18 turnovers to LBW’s nine.
