JDCC softball gets fifth straight win Wednesday as they rally against Three Rivers CC

The Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawks softball team used a six-run sixth inning to carry them to their fifth straight win Wednesday as they downed Three Rivers Community College 7-4. The win moved JDCC to 11-13 overall this season.
Down 2-0 after the first inning and 4-0 after the top of the fifth, JDCC scored seven unanswered in the next two innings to lead them in the three-run win.
Alicia Richardson got JDCC on the board in the bottom of the fifth as she connected for a solo homerun to cut the lead to 4-1.
Down by three in the sixth inning, Hannah Brake started the inning with a hit and Jordan Swindle followed with a single while Paige Lambeth drew a walk to load the bases. Chelsey Ramer singled and drove in two RBIs to cut the lead to 4-3 for the Lady Warhawks.
Katlin Bryars followed with a bunt to load the bases. Pinch hitter Savannah Allen then delivered a two-RBI double for the Lady Warhawks to go on top 5-4. Audrey Hamric and Paige Wooley then added one RBI each to finish out the inning with a 7-4 lead. JDCC would hold Three Rivers scoreless in the top of the seventh to claim the win.
At the plate for JDCC, Hamric, Wooley, Brake, Ramer, Shaquanna Jones, Richardson and Allen all had one hit each while Swindle went 2-for-3.
Ramer and Allen had two RBIs each while Hamric, Wooley and Richardson all had one each. Swindle and Allen had a double each while Richardson had a homerun.
In the pitching circle for JDCC, Kaitlin Hadaway earned the win as she went the complete game seven innings and allowed six hits, four runs, one earned, walked one and struck out five.
The second game of the doubleheader was cancelled due to rain.
