Mrs. Myrtle Alford Cole, 87, of Damascus Road in the Damascus Community died Friday, December 10, 2010 in a local nursing facility after a brief illness. She was a native and life long resident of Escambia County. She was a member of Douglas Chapel Methodist Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by three sons,  Bobby (Pat) Cole and Tommy (Beckie) Cole, both of Brewton, and Mike (Kristy) Cole of Boaz; a daughter,  Phyllis Cole (David) Parker of Brewton; three brothers, Edward Alford and Johnny Wayne Alford, both of Brewton and Haynes Alford of Decatur; two sisters, Blanch Cole of Brewton, and Mildred Blocker of Pace, Fla.;12 grandchildren; and 16 great Grandchildren
Funeral services were held Monday, December 13, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. George Weaver officiating. Interment followed in Damascus Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
