According to the release, the two men entered the store Tuesday afternoon with the intent of stealing Spice, a synthetic version of marijuana that is legal in Florida but illegal in several states, including Alabama.

Sheriff’s Department officials said during the attempted robbery, gunfire was exchanged and Kroll was killed. Both suspects fled the scene on foot wearing black ski masks. Following an extensive manhunt, McGhee was arrested this Wednesday in Escambia County, Ala. and is currently awaiting extradition to Escambia County, Fla.

Lambeth was arrested by Sheriff’s Department investigators, personnel from the U.S. Marshals Task Force, Century Correctional Institute K-9 team, Atmore Police Department and Escambia County, Ala. investigators Wednesday afternoon in a wooded area on Sandy Hollow Lane in Century, Fla. He is being held at the Escambia County Jail under no bond.

Both McGhee and Lambeth are being charged with murder and robbery with a firearm.
