Johnny Wayne Hoomes

Mr. Johnnie Wayne Hoomes, 59, of the Damascus community, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 at his residence after a brief illness. He was a native of Brewton, a former resident of Andalusia, for many years, before moving back to Damascus. He was a 1971 graduate of W.S. Neal High School, a member of the Brooklyn Masonic Lodge, a former driver for AAA Cooper with more than 20 years of service, and was the owner/operator of J.W. Hoomes Trucking. He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Ann Paul Hoomes.
He is survived by his wife,  Patricia Lee Hoomes of Brewton; two daughters, Diane (Britt) Childers of Opp, and Lisa Mychelle Lucal of Andalusia; two step-sons, Curtis Davis of Florida and Justin Davis of Florida; one step-daughter, Suzanne Dunn of Florida; a brother, Kenneth Ray (Betty) Hoomes of Brewton; a sister, Coleen (Gene) Jones of Brewton; five grandchildren, Allison Edgar, Emily Jordan, Cheyenne Jordan,
Taylor Holloway, and Joseph Wayne Lucal; seven step-grandchildren, Jocelyn Davis, Chase Dunn, Gabe Davis, Casey Dunn, Harlee Davis, Hannah Davis and Kiera Davis.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Greer officiating. Burial will follow in Hoomes Family Cemetery in the Damascus area with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
