Jean Edwards Harter

Mrs. Jean Edwards Harter, 76, of County Road 7 Repton, (Lenox Community), died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013 at her residence after an extended illness.

Mrs. Harter was born in Range, and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was a member of the 1854 class of Repton High School. She worked as an administrative assistant at Cotton Hutcheson for 40 years, and was a member of the Conecuh County Board of Education for 30 years. She was a member of the House of Prayer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J.I. and Elaine Baggett Edwards; and her husband, Sanford Earl Harter.

She is survived by her son, Ken (Allison) Harter of Perdidio, a daughter, Traci (Ken) Wright of Excel; two sisters, Agnes Cain of Repton, and Irene Kicker of Range; five grandchildren, Nicole Wright, Kristen Wright, Megan Harter, Malorie Parker and Drew Parker.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at 12 noon until 1 p.m. at the House of Prayer .

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 1 p.m. at the House of Prayer with the Rev. Jerry Trotter officiating. Interment will follow in Hartwood Cemetery with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.

Active pallbearers will be Dusty Hanks, Bruce Hutchison, Rogers Hayes, David Cook, and Mike Blackmon.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Brogden, Harry Lowery, Jerry Green and Jerry Hardy.
