To the editor:
The Castleberry Police Department hosted a businesses-supported Child ID Program at the Castleberry Town Hall on Sept. 21. The response was overwhelming based upon the participation.
The procedure was quite simple. The parent of guardian would bring the child to the town hall and a series of questions would be asked to complete the child's record. A video was produced to record a visual image and also to record the actual voice of the child.
The interviewer would also have the child indicate any scars or identifying marks. The final sequence was to fingerprint the child and turn the entire package over to the parent for safekeeping.
The Castleberry Police Department would like to thank the surrounding businesses for their donations because without their support this would not have been possible.
