While our local football teams take the field this week to battle for victory, a large crowd of fans will also gather to cheer them on. The "Battle of Murder Creek" is one of the most anticipated events of the year for residents of Brewton and East Brewton. While the rivalry is rich with intensity, it is also known to be a friendly one. At the end of the game players will shake hands and the fans who sat on opposing sides of the field on Friday will become a team again as they go back to church and jobs. While there can be only one winner on the field, the Battle of Murder Creek proves that our entire community is made up of winners.
