Mr. Tony Earle Downey, 57, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002 in Perdido. He was a native of Pensacola and a resident of Perdido for most of his life. He was the pastor of Semirah Springs Freewill Baptist Church. He was retired from CSX after 23 years, and a retired employee from the Baldwin County Board of Education as a bus driver and custodian.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Downey of Perdido; two sons, Jason Downey of Perdido and Jeremy Downey of Perdido; two daughters, Tina Butcher of Jackson's Gap, Ala. and Lisa Downey of Perdido; his brother, Linden Malone of Seminole; his sister, Kitty Mitchell of Seminole and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 24, at 11 a.m. at the Pine Grove Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Clyde Bruley and Bro. Bobby Boatwright officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery with Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
