Mr. Carlton King, 82, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002 in a local nursing facility after an extended illness. He was a native of Bradley and a life long resident of Escambia County. He attended the East Brewton Church of Nazarene, was a U.S. Army veteran having served in World War II and a retired machine operator from Jim Walter Doors. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel King and his daughter, Gail King.
He is survived by his son, Ray King of Brewton; two daughters, Lynda Salter and Cecilia Gavin of Chumuckla, Fla.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 7, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Yuhasz officiating. Burial followed at Ft. Crawford Cemetery in East Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
