An Escambia County man was arrested on charges related to child pornography this week.
Rodger Howard Lindsey, 55, of Greer Avenue, Atmore, was arrested following the execution of a search warrant at his residence by the 21st Judicial Drug Task Force and the Atmore Police Department on Wednesday, Nov. 20.
Officials removed more than 500 pieces of evidence from the residence, including VHS tapes, compact discs, a computer system and video and camera equipment. Lindsey has been charged under State Statute 13A-12-197, or production of obscene matter containing visual reproduction of persons under 17 years of age involved in obscene acts.
According to The Mobile Register, Atmore Director of Public Safety Glenn Carle said the search warrant came as a result of a tip from a 16-year-old girl who had lived with Lindsey. The girl was allegedly pictured in the confiscated video.
Lindsey is currently under indictment for unlawful possession of marijuana, a case that was filed after Drug Task Force agents found an indoor growing operation at the same residence on July 23. Lindsey was released on a $7,500 bond at the time of the pornography-related arrest.
Lindsey, a military retiree, was transported to the Escambia County Jail, and his bond was set at $50,000 on the new charge. A bond revocation hearing was held on Friday to revoke the bond on the previous drug charge.
Carlee said state and federal officials have been contacted to assist in the investigation, and additional arrests and charges may be pending.
