Henry Haywood Graves Sr.

Mr. Henry Haywood Graves Sr., 73, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002 in a local nursing facility. He was a native of Escambia County and a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army. He lived for a number of years in Chicago, Ill. working as an iron worker. He was a member of the American Legion and Structional Iron Workers Local Number One in Chicago. He was a protestant and was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan LaBuda.
He is survived by one son, Henry Haywood Graves Jr. of Robertsdale; two daughters, Loraine Allen of Flomaton and Christine LaBuda of Chicago; one brother, Marion "Bud" Graves of Pineview; one sister, Connie Sheffield of Brewton; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 15, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with Rev. Wilbur Graves officiating. Burial followed at Beulah Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Jessie Odom, Vernon Graves, Charles Graves, William "Petie" Graves, Charles "Brother" Graves and Johnny Ray Graves.
