Miss Danielle Merchant, 28, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003 at a Santa Rosa County hospital. She was a native of Atmore and a resident of Oak Grove for most of her life. She was a teacher and attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Richard Sirmon. She was the daughter of Pete and Shelia Coon and Paul and Jane Merchant, all of Atmore.
Other survivors are her daughter, Bethany Anne Merchant of Oak Grove; two brothers, Joshua Lee Coon and Jordan Lee Coon, both of Atmore; two sisters, Rebecca LeeAnne Coon and Ashton Lee Coon, both of Atmore; her grandparents, Janice Sirmon of Oak Grove, A.R. and Geraldine Gunn of Atmore, Myrtle Merchant of Atmore and Eubie Lee Coon of McCullough.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bill Beach officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery with Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Joshua Coon, Grover Hall, Jimmy Morris, Andy Akins, Paul Coleman, Mark Smith, Ricky Smith and Chris Stacey. Honorary pallbearers were Dennis Wiggins and Shawn Respress.
