Mrs. Jewel S. Baldwin, 79, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003 in a Pensacola hospital. She was a native of Goss, La. and had been a resident of Brewton since 1979, coming from Raceland, La. She was a homemaker and was a member of Alco Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Albert Baldwin Jr. of Brewton; four sons, Charles Albert Baldwin III of Gretna, La., David L. Baldwin of Gonzales, La., Robert L. Baldwin of Perkinston, Miss. and James Ray Baldwin of Thibodaux, La.; one daughter, Judith Kay Baldwin of Perkinston; one brother, Joe Spinks of Philadelphia, Miss. 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 18, at 2 p.m. at the chapel at Craver's Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Caylor and Rev. Robert Knowles officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Memorial Gardens with Craver's Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Charles A. Baldwin III, David L. Baldwin, Robert L. Baldwin, James Ray Baldwin, James Young and Lamont Simmons. Honorary pallbearers were James Courtney, Dan Hughes, Bob Winther, Lloyd Cottrell, Ronnie Adams, John Martin and Hugo Moye.
