Mrs. Mamie Louise Coleman Padgett, 83, died Monday, Feb. 24, 2003 at her residence after an extended illness. She was a native and former resident of Evergreen and had resided in East Brewton since 1949. She was a homemaker and a member of East Brewton Baptist Church. She was a veteran of the Women's Army Corps. in which she received the Bronze Star. She was also a member of the Golden Agers and the American Legion.
She is survived by her husband, Olen H. Padgett of East Brewton; one son, Paul Padgett of Brewton; three daughters, Peggy Miller, Penny Slay and Pat Herrington, all of Brewton and nine grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 10 a.m. at Union Cemetery with Rev. Joel Brister and Rev. Donnie Parker officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
