Tigers medal at indoor track event

Several T.R. Miller athletes medaled or placed during a two-day state indoor track meet held in Priceville recently.
In the competition, the Tigers competed in a combined division of 1A through 4A. Athletes earned points for each top six finish while the top three earned medals of gold, silver and bronze, respectively.
Michael Jones and Antonio Gomez finished top in the state, earning gold medals with first place finishes. Jones, a junior, won the 55-meter dash while Gomez, a freshman, won in the long jump category.
Jones and Gomez teamed with Samaritan Cunningham, sophomore, and Jeremy Pete, sophomore, to earn second place in the 4×200 relay.
Gomez also won the silver medal in the 55-meter high hurdles.
Demetris Preyer, a junior, earned points with a fifth-place finish in the shot put competition. Rebecca Neal, junior, Susan Miller, senior, Terri Lynn Peacock, freshman and Grace Miller, freshman, earned points by placing sixth in the 4×200 relay.
