Mr. Henry Braxton Ryland Jr., 65, died Sunday, March 2, 2003 in Vestavia, Ala. after an extended illness. He was a native and longtime resident of Conecuh County before moving to Brewton in 1958. He was a member of Brewton First United Methodist Church, a U.S. Army veteran and a retired lab technician from Jefferson Smurfit Corporation with 38 years of service. He was preceded in death by a son, Mike Ryland.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Baggett Ryland of Brewton; one son, Scott Ryland of Birmingham; one daughter, Cindy Holmes of Birmingham; one daughter-in-law, Julie Ryland of Birmingham; one brother, Barry Ryland of Pensacola; four sisters, Jackie Morgan and Gwen Waters, both of Pensacola, Gayle Frid of Augusta, Ga. and Joyce Reid of Calif. and one grandson.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 5, at 11 a.m. at Baggetts Chapel Cemetery at Belleville, Ala. with Rev. Gary Daniel and Rev. Thomas Smith officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
