Lady Tigers can be proud
On Wednesday, two state champion basketball teams took the floor at the University of Alabama-Birmingham in the semi-finals of the state playoffs. Our own Lady Tigers won the 4A crown last year and their opponents, Lauderdale County, was the 3A winner from a year ago. Both of these teams are familiar with winning as indicated by their status from a year ago and their superb records for the current season. But, as always in athletic competition, someone had to lose and this week the Lady Tigers came up on the short end of the stick.
In our view, despite this loss, the Lady Tigers have a lot to be proud of. As area and regional champs they represent the best from our part of the state and stand as one of the "Final Four" in the state. But, more importantly, they have carried on what has become a tradition at T.R. Miller High School - excellence in girls' varsity basketball.
