Mrs. Carmen Durden Watson, 89, died Sunday, April 20, 2003 at her residence after an extended illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Escambia County, Ala., a member of Cedar Hill Methodist Church and retired from St. Regis Paper Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Curtis Watson and a grandson, Gary Tucker.
She is survived by one son, Robert Watson of Brewton; three daughters, Marie McRae and Sarah Odom, both of Brewton and Peggy Rein of Gold Caynon, Ariz.; one sister, Betty Steadham of Brewton; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 22, at 10 a.m. at Cedar Hill Methodist Church with Rev. Johnny Coker and Rev. William Armstrong officiating. Burial followed at Weaver Family Cemetery on Hwy. 29 with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
