Mr. Russell Lee McVay, 74, died Saturday, April 19, 2003. He was a native of Akron, Ohio and a resident of Gulf Shores.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Shirley Jean McVay; two daughters, Sherri Rodgers of Dacula, Ga. and Monica Horning of Pensacola; three sons, Mark McVay and Steve McVay, both of Daphne and Bruce McVay of Harrison, Ark.; his brother, Jerry McVay of Pensacola; a brother-in-law, Dale McMath of Orange Beach, Ala.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 22, at 10:30 a.m. at the chapel of Pine Rest Funeral Home in Foley with military services following at 12:30 p.m at Barrancas National Cemetery with Pine Rest Memorial Park and Funeral Home directing. Donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
