ArtWalk to feature local art, music

Artists from around the area and the region will be in Brewton this Saturday featuring their work at ArtWalk.
With displays along the Boardwalk, the sidewalks and at several businesses in historic downtown Brewton, artists, musical entertainers and concession vendors will fill the morning and afternoon with unique sights and sounds.
Over 20 artists will be displaying a variety of paintings, jewelry, primitive art and pottery.
Camilla Armstrong, Karen Hutchenson, Dot Turnipseed Svendson, Mallory Martin, Margo Bell and Lila Adams will be set up at McMillan Wingate Interior Designs.
Other featured artists are Lee Bain, Bernice Sims, Jonathan Bell, Emily Wesley, Susan Alsup, Louise Garrett, Margie Ingram, Shannon Brantley as well as several T.R. Miller High School Art Students.
Musicians will be on hand to entertain the crowds all day, and are being coordinated by Lillie Dove.
Entertainment will be provided by Leigh Walker, Earl Evans, Doris Culliver, Robert Bell Family, Carolyn Marshall, Shannon Brantley, Joetta Harrison, Latoya Floyd, Joleisha Likely, Lakeshia Marshall, Bigg Madd House and Gwendolyn King.
The YMCA is sponsoring a self-directed walking tour of downtown Brewton that will include historical information about the buildings and businesses along the route.
The walking route will start at the Brewton Area YMCA and proceed down Belleville Avenue to downtown and back. The course will be marked with signs indicating distance and direction. The total route is 4.5 miles.
Information about the historical homes and businesses along the route will be available at the front desk of the YMCA.
Another outdoor activity will be taking place downtown, at Burnt Corn Creek Park. Hurriclean is sponsoring a disc-golf tournament on the park's course.
ArtWalk is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free of charge.
