To the editor:
The Brewton Middle School Pride Organization would like to thank several area businesses for being a Partner in Education. To be a Partner in Education means that you support the school through donations of $100 or more. Too often our area businesses and personal donators go unrecognized in their support of our schools and community. The Pride Organization relies on these businesses and personal donations to help meet some of the needs of our teachers and school that can not be covered through federal money.
Thank you to the following businesses and personal donators for your support through the years: First Progressive Bank, NDI, Jefferson Smurfit Corp., Regions Bank, Medical Center Pharmacy, BankTrust, Brewton Medical Center, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Weaver, Dr. and Mrs. James Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Terrill Neal, Stokes, Jernigan and Stokes, P.C., Ms. Susan Kirby, Connie Manufacturing Co., Inc., Evans Carpet Cleaner, Dr. and Mrs. Mark Robinson, East Brewton Mini-Storage, Hines Realty, Southern Normal School, T.R. Miller Mill Co. and Brewton Insurance.
The next tiem you ask yourself why I should shop Brewton first, think of this. Every time there is a special event - whether it is for schools, churches and city programs - we rely on our area businesses to support that event. They give very generously year after year. Should we not show them the same respect? Not only will the tax dollars go to your schools, but it will also help keep our economy up and keep local people working. If more people realized just how much our businesses do for this city, I believe they would know why all of us should shop Brewton first.
Other businesses that have supported our school throughout the years by other means are Burger King, Food Fair, McDonalds, Pizza Pro, Grady Automotive and The Brewton Standard. Our area businesses needs us to support them just like we need them to support us. When shopping at any of these businesses, remember to thank them for their support.
