Festival draws big crowds to Brewton area

The Greater Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its 23rd annual Blue Berry Festival last Saturday, June 21 and many locals as well as other out-of-town visitors came to enjoy the great weather, sample blueberry deserts, and look around at all the neat crafts.
Judy Crane from the Greater Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce said the turnout was bigger and better than ever.
Larry Manning, a local artist and potter, said that it was one of his best sales ever.
The Kiwanis Club sold hamburgers, blueberry ice cream and cobbler.
Kiwanis Club officials said they sold 85 pans of cobbler and more than 20 gallons of blueberry ice cream.
LaJune Mattingly, there selling her art work, said although it was her first time she felt it was a good turn out.
