Mrs. Susan Miller Phillips, 47, died Saturday, July 5, 2003 in an Atlanta hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Washington, D.C., former resident of Auburn and Franklin, Tenn. and a long time resident of Brewton. She was of the Methodist faith. She was a member of American Saddle Breed Association, American Shoe Associating, philanthropist for Auburn University and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her mother, Anne Miller Phillips and a son, Matthew Albert Tucker.
She is survived by her father, Lyman Phillips of Fairhope; her step-mother, Gail Golson Phillips; a brother, Allen C. Phillips of Destin, Fla.; a step-brother, Jack P. Golson Jr. of Montgomery; two step-sisters, Lisa G. Singleton of Fort Deposit and Carla G. St. Peter of Destin; a niece and a nephew.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 10, from 2 to 5 p.m. at her residence at 113 Alexander Drive. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, July 10, at 5:30 p.m. at Union Cemetery with Rev. Diana W. Phillips officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
