Downed tree detours traffic

A downed tree stopped traffic along Douglas Avenue Monday evening.
According to Brewton Police Lt. Randy Nicholson, a tree was forced down by apparent high winds during a brief storm around 6:30 p.m. Monday.
Motorists were detoured during the clean-up, according to Officer Thomas Agerton, who was on duty at the time of the incident. The detoured traffic traveled through the Wilson and Peavy Street area and returned to Douglas Avenue.
No injuries were reported.
