The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources' Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries Division will be sponsoring a Youth Dove Hunt for Escambia County youth.
The Department has announced the guidelines for the upcoming hunt, set for October 18 and 25 on the Hauss Nursery property.
The hunt will be limited to the first 30 groups to register for the event.
Anyone who participates in the program is required to have an adult supervisor at least 25 years old. There is a limit of three youth hunters per adult.
Adults and children must stay together at all times during the hunt.
Adults who plan to hunt must have a State of Alabama hunting license and Harvest Information Program permit in their possession during the hunt.
Legal firearms for the event will be shotguns, 10 gauge or smaller, plugged or otherwise incapable of holding more than three shells using standard number two shot or smaller.
Pre-registeration is now underway at the Escambia County Extension Office in Brewton.
The hunts are being held in cooperation with landowners, local volunteers, businesses and organizations.
To register, stop by the Extension office or call 867-7760 and speak with Ora Lett or Sue Cooper.
