Mr. Robert David Griffis, 34, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003 in Seneca, S.C. He was a native of Century, Fla. and a resident of McDavid for the past five years. He was of the Protestant faith and was preceded in death by his grandfather, J.D. Griffis.
He is survived by his mother, Patsy Griffis of McDavid; his son, Patrick Griffis of McDavid; the mother of his child, Sherry; his grandmother, Ruby Griffis of McDavid; two aunts and five uncles.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 24, at 2 p.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Cliff Emmons officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Jay, Fla. with Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Jackie Carnley, Bud Campbell, Jeff Johnson, Johnny Griffis, Chad Hanks and Rodney Griffis. Honorary pallbearers were James Emmons and Mark Hennington.
