Sealed proposals will be received by Jefferson Davis Community College at the office of Dr. Susan A. McBride, President, 220 Alco Drive, Brewton, Alabama 36426 until 10:00 AM CDT Thursday, September 18, 2003 for Renovation of Industrial Electronics Library (JDCC Classroom Modification), Atmore Campus at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read.
A cashier’s check or bid bond payable to Jefferson Davis Community College in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder’s proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract.
Drawings and specifications may be examined at the office of Dr. Susan A. McBride, President, Jefferson Davis Community College, 220 Alco Drive, Brewton, Alabama 36426, Heffernan Holland Morgan Architecture, P.A., and F.W. Dodge.
Bid Documents may be obtained from the Architect upon deposit of $100.00 per set, which will be refunded in full on the first two (2) sets issued to each general contract bidder submitting a bonafide bid, upon return of documents in good condition within ten days of bid date. Other sets for general contractors, and sets for subcontractors and dealers, may be obtained with the same deposit, which will be refunded as above, less cost of printing, reproduction, handling, and distribution.
Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Architect or copies thereof. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Architect (Engineer); the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying his or her current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner’s judgement, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted.

NOTICE
Default having been made in the payment of the indebtedness secured by that certain mortgage of George L. Ahern and. wife, Wendy K. Ahern to Clarence E. Blanton and Vina F. Blanton, dated December 29, 1995, and recorded in Book 109, at page 626, and such default continuing, the undersigned, acting under the powers of sale contained in said mortgage, will offer for sale and will sell to the highest bidder for cash at the door to the Escambia County Courthouse during the legal hours of sale on the 22nd day of September, 2003, the following described real estate situated in Escambia County, Alabama, to-wit:
A square lot or parcel of land particularly described as beginning at the intersection of Highway 31 and Patterson Road, and running thence East 120.5 yards, thence South 120.5 yards, thence West 120.5 yards, thence North 120.5 yards to the point of beginning, situated in the NW 1/4 of NE 1/4, Section 2.7, Township 1 North, Range 6 East, lying South of the right-of-way of said Highway 31.
Beginning at the intersection of Highway 31 and Patterson Road and run East along the South line of Highway 31, 120.5 yards for a starting point, thence run South 70 yards, thence East 70 yards, thence North 70 yards, thence West 70 yards to the point of beginning, situated in the NW 1/4 of NE 1/4, Section 27, Township 1 North, Range 6 East, being one acre of land, more or less.
Commencing at the point where the East line of Patterson Road intersects the South line of Highway 31 in the NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of said Section 27, and run thence South along the East side of Patterson Road a distance of 120.5 yards to the Southwest corner of a lot conveyed by M.R. Norman to T.A. Graham by a deed, dated October 23, 1941, and recorded in Deed Book 82, page 57, to form a starting point, thence run East along the South line of that lot 120.5 yards to the Southeast corner thereof, thence run North along the East line of said lot 50.5 yards to the Southwest corner of a lot conveyed by Frank A. Steward to T.A. Graham by deed dated December 31, 1941 and recorded in Deed nook 82, page 176, thence running East along the South line of said last described lot 70 yards to the Southeast corner thereof, thence running South 70.25 yards, thence running West 190.5 yards to the East line of Patterson Road, and thence running North 19.75 yards to the starting point, containing 1.5 acres, more or less.
Commencing at a point where the East line of Patterson Road intersects the South line of Highway 31 in the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 27, and. running thence South along the East side of Patterson Road. a distance of 140.25 yards to the Southwest corner of a lot conveyed by Frank A. Steward and wife to T.A. Graham on March 10, 1945, by a deed recorded in Deed Book 90, page 550, to form a starting point, from said. starting point thence run East along the South line of said last named lot a distance of 190.5 yards to the Southeast corner thereof, thence run South 53 yards, thence West 190.5 yards, thence North 53 yards to the starting point, containing 2.1 acres, more or less, in the NW 1/4 of NE 1/4 of said Section 27.
LESS AND EXCEPT: Commencing at a point where the East right-of-way of Patterson Road intersects the South right-of-way of Highway 31, thence South 455 feet along East right-of-way of Patterson Road to the point of beginning, thence South 100 feet along the East right-of-way of Patterson Road, thence East 150 feet, thence North 100 feet, thence West 150 feet to the point of beginning, containing 0.344 of an acre, being in the NW 1/4 of NE 1/4, Section 27, Township 1 North, Range 6 East; and also LESS AND EXCEPT 0.43 acres described in Book 144, at page 461.
Default having been made in the payment of the indebtedness secured by said mortgage, and default continuing, the said Clarence E. Blanton and Vina F. Blanton, do declare all unpaid portions of the indebtedness secured by said mortgage immediatelydue and payable and the mortgage subject to foreclosure. The sale will be made for the purpose of applying the proceeds thereof in the way and manner provided by the terms of said mortgage and by law.
