Mrs. Gloria Lee "Padgett" Matheny, 63, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003 at a Louisiana hospital. She was a native of Reese Station, Ohio and a resident of Atmore for the past 24 years. She was an employee of Slidell Memorial Hospital at the time of her death, previously at Lakeland Medical Center in New Orleans, La. and Monroe County Hospital. She attended Presley Street Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Junior Matheny of Atmore; her mother, Zelma Pritchard of Groveport, Ohio; a son, John Vincent Lake of San Jose, Calif.; four daughters, Carol Searcy and Lisa Lake, both of Atmore, Angel Padgett of Perdido and Sabrina "Brie" Matheny Drew of Flomaton; two brothers, John Pritchard of Canal Winchester, Ohio and George Pritchard of Coshockton, Ohio; a sister, Beckey Pritchard of Groveport and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m. at the Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Harp officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery with Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be John Lake, George Pritchard, Michael Drew, Calem Searcy, Mike Mauldin and Thomas Righter.
