Mrs. Mammie Helen Garrett Dewberry, 89, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003 in a Daphne medical facility after an extended illness. She was a native of Conecuh County and a long-time resident of Brewton. She was a member of London Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by five sons, Shelton Dewberry and Lloyd Dewberry, both of Spanish Fort, Charles S. Dewberry of Bay Minette, Jerry Dewberry of Monroeville and Randy Dewberry of Fairhope; one daughter, Shirley Ruthkowski of St. Paul, Minn.; three brothers, Claude Garrett and C.S. Garrett, both of Montgomery and Ralph Garrett of Evergreen; one sister, Willie Gay Hammac of Brewton; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 10:30 a.m. at London Baptist Church in Castleberry with Rev. Robert Peters officiating. Burial followed at London Baptist Church Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
