Mr. Thomas Edward Payne, 56, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003. He was a member of Second Saint Siloam Baptist Chruch and was a 1965 graduate of Southern Normal. He was an auto mechanic, worked with U.S. Steel and was employed with Jerry Kelly. He was preceded in death by a sister, Hustine Payne Hamilton.
He is survived by his mother, Amanda Payne; a son, Thomas Payne Jr.; a brother, Leonard Payne; a grandson and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m. at Second Saint Siloam Baptist Church with Rev. Willie J. Blue officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
