Mr. Alfred Duval Thompson, 79, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003 in a local hospital. He was a native of Port au Cortez, Honduras and a resident of Flomaton since 1946. He was a member of the Merchant Marines and became a citizen of the U.S. in 1982. He was a member of the Flomaton Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Martha Ann Thompson of Flomaton; two sons, Alfred Wilton Thompson of Century and Clark D. Thompson of Atmore; a grandson, Gerry Thompson of Flomaton; three daughters, Eileen V. Thompson, Patricia Rico and Martha Sansom, all of Flomaton; two granddaughters; a great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m. at Flomaton Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Homer Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Flomaton Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be Johnny Allen, Bodie Hammond, Bubba Hammoc, Malvin Adams, Mickey Sansom and Daryl Fore.
