Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Baker Cain, 62, of Appleton, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003 at a local hospital after an extended illness. She was a native and life-long resident of Escambia County. She was a retired cook and of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her mother, Gladys Baker of Brewton; a son, Mark Cain of Brewton; one daughter, Cindy Phelps of Brewton; four brothers, Luther Baker of Whiting, Ind., John Baker and Homer Baker, both of Castleberry and Jerry Baker of Brewton; one sister, Clara Burch of Range; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 24, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Reo Pugh officiating. Burial followed at Weaver Cemetery in Appleton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
