Mrs. Ruth Sharpless, 75, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003 at a local hospital. She was a native of McCullough, a former resident of Atmore and a resident of Walnut Hill for the past 40 years. She was previously employed at Monsanto, was a restaurant owner in Atmore and attended Walnut Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond E. Smith, and two sisters, Mary A. Smith and Judith Nelson.
She is survived by her husband, Felix B. "Buddy" Sharpless of Walnut Hill; three sons, Danny Wilson of Linewood, Wash., Wayne Wilson of Shoreline, Washington and Billy Nelson; three daughters, Tracy Capps of Walnut Hill, Carol Wilson of Healsburg, Calif. and Sandra Wilson of Geyserville, Calif.; her brother, James E. Smith of Stockton; four sisters, Faye Blair of Wawbeek, Emily Boler of Pensacola, Rita Horlacher of New Jersey and Jean Smith of Atmore and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 28, at 2 p.m. at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. James Boyd officiating. Burial followed at Walnut Hill Baptist Cemetery with Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
