Mrs. Gertrude Blackwell Adkisson, 88, of Scott Road died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003 in a local hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Repton and life-long resident of Brewton. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness Brewton and retired from Monsanto with 23 years service.
She is survived by a son, Alton Adkisson of Pace, Fla.; a daughter, Edna Adkisson of Brewton; a daughter-in-law, Verdie Adkisson of East Brewton; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 12 at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Jacques Deslonde officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
