Mr. Robert Lee Champion, 76, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003 in a Montgomery hospital. He was a native of Independence, Ala. and had been a resident of Century for the past five years, coming from Warrior. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was of the Christian faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Champion.
He is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Ealey of Tucson, Ariz.; three sons, Robert Wayne Champion of Las Vegas, Nev., Herman Craig Champion of Century and Steve Champion of Calif.; two brothers, Norris Champion and Stanford Champion, both of Prattville; one sister, Louise Gardner of Jay, Fla.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 17, at noon at the chapel of Flomaton Funeral Home with Dr. Stephen Yuhasz officiating. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.
