Making resolutions for better health and fitness in the New Year is not uncommon, and the Brewton Area YMCA offers programs to help members meet their goals.
The YMCA's Resolution Solution for 2004 is "an incentive to keep exercising," Layton said.
Set up like a bingo card, members receive a star every time they complete one of the fitness tasks.
Members who complete their cards by Feb. 15 will win a Nautilus fitness bag, Layton said.
To encourage resolutions for better health in 2004, the YMCA is offering a discounted joining fee of $20.04 through January.
The YMCA includes the following facilities: heated indoor pool, fitness room, basketball court, walking track, racquetball court, steamroom and sauna.
The Y's fitness center has recently acquired new Nautilus strength equipment and new cardio equipment, Layton said.
The YMCA also offers classes in karate, yoga, aerobics, and step aerobics.
Beginning this month, the YMCA is adding a new service -- therapeutic massage -- as part of a comprehensive health and wellness program, Layton said.
