Mrs. Bertie Danley Jackson, 82, of East Brewton died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004 in a local hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Baker, Fla., a former resident of Pensacola and a long-time resident of East Brewton. She was of the Assembly of God faith, active in her church, had a foster home for several years caring for 28 children through the years and a retired school bus driver with Escambia County, Fla. with 18 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl O. Danley and a daughter, Joan Danley.
She is survived by her husband, Autrey Jackson of East Brewton; two sons, David Danley of Benton, Tenn. and Johnny Danley of Pensacola; one daughter, Barbara Wilson of East Brewton; one step-son, Kenny Jackson of Brewton; one brother, Cleveland Fleming of Pensacola; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a special friend, Kathryn Hule and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 19, at 10 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel with Bro. John Sowell and Bro. Gene Hudson officiating. Burial followed at Bayview Park Cemetery in Pensacola with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
