Mrs. Sibyl Ruth Owens Hardin, 82, of Castleberry died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004 in a local nursing facility after an extended illness. She was a native of Crenshaw County and a long-time resident of Castleberry. She was a member of Castleberry United Methodist Church, lay speaker of the church, former teacher's aide at Conecuh County Junior High School and a retired draw twist operator from Monsanto with 27 years of service.
She is survived by a son, Larry Hardin of Waycross, Ga.; three daughters, Carolyn Fleming of Birmingham, Linda Daniels of Washington, D.C. and Janice Holland of Niceville, Fla; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and 10 nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m. at Castleberry United Methodist Church with Rev. Thomas Smith and Rev. Chuck Rothy officiating. Burial followed at Buffington Cemetery in Castleberry with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
